Responding to changing needs

Over the past few years Streetline have provided a service for young people with very particular needs, which are often not identified prior to admission. From our experience it appears that young people are being diagnosed with complex disabilities which makes the expectation of adult functioning at 18 years of age unachievable.

In response, Dublin City Council purchased a next-door property for Streetline’s use which will be developed into four flats with a dedicated life skills area with space to provide enabling programmes to be developed to meet the changing needs of young people who have come through the care system.
